It is unfortunate that a beloved member of the Engstrom Bean family has fallen ill. Recently Jim Enger, our former Operations Manager in both Leeds and Petersburg, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Jim was our Operations Manager from 2010 to 2014, overseeing all aspects of our operations during that time. Many of you got to know Jim during that time and experienced his vast knowledge and love for his job.
Jim and Laurie were in the process of retiring to Fargo when they got the diagnosis. The doctors in Grand Forks were unable to do a biopsy on the spot on his pancreas as it was too risky due to veins surrounding the cancerous spot. He was recently fitted with a port and began to undergo chemo on Friday, Oct. 16th. If treatments go well and the tumor shrinks enough to remove, Jim will be scheduled for surgery at Mayo Clinic.
Starting in November, Jim will be receiving his treatments at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo. They are fortunate enough to have their children and grandchildren in the area and will be staying with one of their sons and his family until they can get into their apartment in December.
We would appreciate it if you could help us help Jim and Laurie by taking part in our “Pop Into Action For Enger” fundraiser. You can donate by purchasing a combo pack of snack sized Colorado Jack Popcorn.
Jim and Laurie have done so much for everyone around them, it is time we
