Our owners are both 4th generation North Dakota farmers. They also own and operate dry edible bean processing plants. In 2013 they partnered together to purchase a processing plant in Holyoke Colorado – Jack’s Bean. This facility processes beans and raw popcorn. Most of the popcorn they were taking in was being cleaned and put in 50 lb. bags and sold to Mexico for use in their movie theaters. In looking for a way to diversify and sell more of their popcorn in the United States they decided to enter the business of pre-popped flavored popcorn and Colorado Jack was born! The name paying tribute to Jack’s Bean which has been in operation since 1932! So after the best raw kernels are chosen by our plant manager – you know the ones that guarantee that huge Colorado Jack pop – it is bagged and shipped to Leeds North Dakota where it is popped, flavored and packaged at Golden Plains Frozen Foods. We are directly involved in the ENTIRE process from field to package!
Colorado Jack is a small company based on the values and principles of giving back and are proud of our charitable contributions. We look forward to building on this in the future. Thank you for reading our story and we hope you enjoy Colorado Jack popcorn. We appreciate your continued support!
